In the 1950s, Chet Baker was one of the most famous trumpeters in the world, renowned as both a pioneer of the West Coast jazz scene and an icon of cool. By the 1960s, he was all but washed up, his career and personal life in shambles due to years of heroin addiction. Part fact, part fiction, the film zeroes in on Baker's life at a key moment in the 1960s, just as the musician attempts to stage a hard-fought comeback, spurred in part by a passionate romance with a new flame.

Hardy, and fought against prejudice to reveal his mathematic genius to the world.

In doing so she attracts the simultaneous attentions of the young, handsome Reginald DeCourcy, the rich and silly Sir James Martin and the divinely handsome, but married, Lord Manwaring, complicating matters severely.

Remember tells the story of Zev Guttman, a 90-year-old struggling with memory loss who is living out his final years in a serene retirement home. A week following the death of his beloved wife Ruth, he suddenly gets a mysterious package from his close friend Max containing a stack of money and a letter detailing a shocking plan. Both Zev and Max were prisoners in Auschwitz, and the same sadistic guard was responsible for the death of both their families-a guard who, immediately after the war, escaped Germany and has been living in the U.S. ever since under an assumed identity. Max is wheelchair-bound but in full command of his mental faculties; with his guidance, Zev will embark on a cross-continental road-trip to bring justice once and for all to the man who destroyed both their lives.

MOVIE CHANGE for May 2, 2016

Tomorrow's (Monday's) movie is "Carol" instead of "Al Purdy Was Here"

Cineplex Galaxy received two copies of "Al Purdy Was Here" and, unfortunately, neither copy works.

Since it is too late to get a replacement copy, tomorrow Monday May 2 at both 4pm and 7pm at the Cineplex in north Chatham we will be showing "Carol" starring Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara.

"Carol" was nominated for 6 Academy Awards including best actress and best supporting actress.
